George Washington May Jr. 81, of Lincoln Park, Michigan, formerly of McAndrews, Kentucky, graduated into life eternal on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the Williamson ARH.
George was born in McAndrews, Kentucky, May 23, 1928, the beloved son of the late George Washington May Sr. and the late Bertha Blackburn May. He was preceded into Glory by his loving
wife Reba May and a son Bruce May.
George was a UAW worker at Chrysler Motor Co. for 42 years in Trenton, Michigan. He was a loving Father and Grandfather. George will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
George is survived by his loving daughters; Gwendolyn Lee May Castro (Alex) of Plantation, Florida and Debra Lynn May Carter (Mark) of Turkey Creek, Kentucky. A sister Bernice May
Cleghon (Richard) of Huddy, Kentucky a brother; William May of Ohio, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and one very special friend; Jan Glowinski.

He was an employee of Buckeye Steel.

Lucien Douglas Savage Jr.,  32 of Kenova, W.V. passed away Monday January 11, 2010 at the Hospice House of Huntington, W.V. He was born April 3, 1977 at South Williamson, Ky. to
Lucian Douglas Savage Sr. and Loretta Coleman Savage of Kenova, W.V. He is preceded in death by his grandmother; Besta Hager and cousin; Frankie Coleman.
He was a carpenter and a member of the Jesus Name Faith of Huntington, W.V.
Besides his parents he is survived by two sons; Brycen Douglas Savage and Tyler Charles Savage of Kenova, W.V. one daughter; Iasbella Frye of Chesapeake, Ohio, three half-sisters; Darlene

Ruby Mae Walters, 73 of Varney, Ky. passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at her home of a lingering illness. She was born April 28, 1936 in Pike County, Ky. to the late Jeff and Mary
Robinette.  She is also preceded in death by her husband; Bill Walters, one son; Danny Walters and eight brothers, Virgil, George, Ferrell, Leonard, Homer, Willard, Earl and Toney Robinette. She
was a homemaker and a member of the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Michael (Connie) Walters of Zebulon, KY. , Andrew (Kim) Walters of  Varney, Ky., and Bill (Tenna) Walters of Varney, Ky.; one daughter-in-law, Glenda Stanley

Homer Justice, 77, of Ransom, Ky. who was a loving husband to all who knew him passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky.
He was born March 30, 1932 at Phyllis, Ky. the son of the late Bill and Stella Hatfield Justice.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Willie Justice Jr..
Homer was a retired coal miner from Eastern Coal Corp., a member of the UMWA and the Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Jo Scott Justice of Ransom, Ky.; one son, Rocky Brian Justice and his Fiancee, Bonnie Chatman of Dunlow, WV; one daughter, Daphne Nancy (Barry)
Maggard of Ransom, Ky.; five brothers, Bruce Justice of Belfry, Ky.; Ernie Justice and Ray Justice both of Hardy, Ky. and Mosco Justice and Bob Justice both of Ransom, Ky.; two sisters, Edna

Joseph Edward Pauley, 95 of 239 Shady Grove Road, Lawndale, NC formerly of Pike County passed away, Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at his residence.
He was born in Pike County, Kentucky on June 1, 1914 to the late Joseph Cooper Pauley and Martha Varney Pauley.  He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, Lawndale, NC.  He
was a man who loved his family.  He was a believer in hard work and retired from Eastern Coal Corp. as a heavy mechanic.  He also enjoyed through his life, hunting, fishing, camping and gardening.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 74 years, Reba Sammons Pauley; six brothers, Charles, Frank, Robert, Fred, James and Jack Pauley and a sister, Edna Mae
Aaron.
Mr. Pauley is survived by his son, Larry Pauley and wife, Freida of Shelby, NC; two daughters, Janice Scott of Lawndale, NC and Margaret Runyon and husband, Harry of Dallas, NC; seven
grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston, NC on Thursday from 6 till 8 PM and at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry on Saturday from 10 AM till 11 AM.  The funeral

Jerry David Nunley, 50, of Caney, W.V. passed away Friday January 22, 2010 at his residence. He was born August 14, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio to Virginia Diamond Nunley Wright of
Naugatuck, W.V. and the late James David Nunley. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28.
He is survived by his wife: Rosetta Nunley, one son: David Scott Franklin (Beverly) Nunley of Caney, W.V. two sisters: Donna (Dale) Baisden of Marrowbone, W.V. and Sheila Hundley of

Hattie R. McCoy, 73, of Burnwell, Ky. passed away Saturday January 23, 2010 at her residence. She was born October 22, 1936 in Kentucky to the late Ida Mae Bevins. She is preceded in
death by two sons; Michael McCoy and Robert McCoy, and one brother; Walter Robinson. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband; Virgil McCoy,  one daughter; Betty Anne McCoy of Burnwell, Ky. two sons; Virgil Ray McCoy of Burnwell, Ky. and Vernon Richard (Lydia) McCoy of Hardy,
Ky. two brothers; Jay Robinson of Florida and Roy Rogers Robinson of Wiliamson, W.V. one daughter-in-law; Penny McCoy of Canada, Ky. two grandchildren; Brian (Ashley) McCoy and

Woodrow Moorer, 87 of Williamson, WV passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center, Phelps, Ky.
He was born October 1, 1922 in Birmingham, Al. the son of the late Alde and Ida Moorer.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Moorer, daughter, Daphne and three brothers.
He was a coal miner having been employed by Eastern Coal Corp., a member of the UMWA and a veteran of the US Army.
Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Southerns of El Paso, Texas and Yolando Singleton of Canton, Ohio; three sons, Donald Moorer and Barry Moorer both of Youngstown, Ohio and Bruce
Moorer of Williamson, WV; two brothers, Broadie Moorer of Chicago, Il. and Eugene Moorer of Edgewater, Fl.; one sister, Lillian Morris of Youngstown, Ohio and seven grandchildren and ten
great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, January 28, 2010 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Ky. with Thomas Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory

Donald L. Clevenger, 73 of Pikeville, Ky. formerly of Sidney, Ky. passed away Wednesday night, February 3, 2010 at his residence of a lingering illness.
He was born May 31, 1936 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Lenard and Elizabeth Gibson Clevenger.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Franklin Clevenger, four brothers,
Henry, Andrew, Malcolm and Elster Clevenger, one sister, Allison Clevenger and a granddaughter, Kathy Lee Clevenger.  
Donald was a retired coal miner from Mary Helen Coal Company and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Rose Clevenger; one son, Albon (Marcella) Clevenger of Kermit, WV; two daughters, Denita (Jack) Thacker of Sidney, Ky. and Jennifer G. Clevenger of
Glasgow, Ky.; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday, February 8, 2010 at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Freewill Baptist Ministers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rose Family

Willard Paul Young, 78 passed away at his home in Williamson on February 6, 2010 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Williamson on May 5, 1931 the son of Willard Landon and Mary Ann Scalf Young who preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Fred Young and his
Uncle, Ben Scalf who raised him after the death of his parents.
Paul was a veteran of the Korean War with the US Army.  He was a talented musician who loved big band music.  He played with several local bands and once had the plesure of jamming with the
great Louis Armstrong.  He also played with the military band while in the Army.
Paul is survived by his wife, Maxine Young; one daughter and four sons and their children; Melody Sue Young (Ronnie Donahue) and Jeff and Star; Ben (Martha) Young and Tim and Joe; Paul
(Darlene) Young Jr. and Jason, Brittany and Chris; Jimmy (Tillie) Young and Matthew, Garnet and Ally and Barry Young.  He is also survived by his brother James Douglas Young  and five great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Rick Jackson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy,
Ky. with sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers.  Belfry Chapter #141 DAV will have military graveside services.  Visitation will be held after 6 PM Monday, February 8, 2010 at the Funeral

Mary Elizabeth "Liz" McCoy Dillon went home to be with the Lord Monday morning, February 8, 2010 at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 26, 1934 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of the late Major and Ethel Thompson McCoy.  She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Anna McCoy, Polly Martin
and Patsy Maynard.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Gospel Revelation Tabernacle Church.
Survivors include her husband, Donald K. Dillon of Rawl, WV; one daughter, Ethel Grace (Roger) Russell of Rawl, WV; one son, Donald Dewayne (Sonya) Dillon of Rawl, WV; four sisters, Helen
(Bill) Marcum of Aflex, Ky.; Thelma (Tom) McCoy and Joyce (James) Keene of Burnwell, Ky. and Virginia (J.P.) Roberts of Columbus, Ohio; four brothers, Ralph McCoy, John (Regina)

James Gregory "Jimmie" Scott, 50 of Hardy, Ky. passed away Monday, February 8, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, WV.
He was born on August 8, 1959 at Hopewell, Va. the son of Vivian C. Smith Scott of Matewan, WV and the late Charles E. Scott Sr.  He was also preceded in death by one son, James Gregory
Scott II, maternal grandparents, Willard and Blanche Smith and paternal grandparents, Elbert and Lydia Scott.  He was a disabled coal miner and mechanic. He was of the Primitive Baptist Faith
and a veteran of the US Army.
Besides his Mother, he is survived by his wife, Denise Hatfield Scott of Hardy; two daughters, Veronica (Kevin) Bryant of Hardy, Ky. and Natasha Scott of South Williamson, Ky.; three brothers,
Charles E. Scott Jr. of Matewan,WV; Samuel Scott of Hardy, Ky. and John Scott; two sisters, Susan Heald of North Carolina and Mary Scott of California and four grandchildren, Nick and Leah

was also preceded in death by her husband of 35 years; Eddie Dean Reed, her father-in-law; Lafayette Reed and her mother-in-law; Kansas Reed. She was a homemaker.

Lewis (Buddy) Pennington Jr., 67, of Williamson, West Virginia, died Saturday, February 13, 2010 in the Pikeville Medical Center.  
He was born April 28, 1942 a Goodman, WV the son of the late Lewis E. Pennington Sr. and Elda Bowens Pennington.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel
Stubbs, and Betty Jo Barker.
He was a self employed carpenter and of the Baptist Faith.  Lewis is survived by two brothers, Wilburn Lee Pennington of Phoenix, Arizonia and Mickey E. Pennington of Ocala, Florida; three
sisters, Opal Whitmer of New Straitsville, Ohio, Wanda (Floyd) West of Columbus, Ohio and Deborah (Mike) Burg of Whitehall, Ohio; Six nieces ; Eleven Nephews; Special Friend, Irene Estepp;
Host of Friends at Goodman Manor; and a special thanks to his caregivers, Charlotte Gillman, Judy Hambrick, Juanita Barker and Skip Barker.

Orville Wilbur Bates, 39 of Williamson, WV passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Coral Springs, Fl.
He was born February 13, 1970 in Ocala, Fl. the son of Thomas Bates of
Brandenton , Florida and the late Wilma Lee Meadows Bates.
He was a disabled carpenter.

Homer Spears, 79 of 77 North Blackburn Bottom, Pikeville, Ky. died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky.
He was born on December 8, 1930 at Drift, Ky. the son of the late Isaac amd Mary Ann Dutton Spears.  He was also preceded in death by his first two wives, Alene Hall Spears and Margie
Adkins Spears. one son, Chris Spears, several brothers and three grandchildren.
Homer was a retired coal miner.
Survivors include his wife, Glenna Jo Chapman Spears; four daughters, Euna Faye Adkins, Mary Ann Sesco and Anna Mae Sesco all of Sidney, Ky. and Nancy Elaine Browning of Flatwoods,
Ky.; three sons, Thurman Ray Spears, Ralph Samuel Spears and Craig Stanley Spears all of Sidney, Ky.; one step-daughter, Kimberly Dawn Horner of Warfield, Ky.; two sisters, Irene Mosley
and Georgene Mosley both of Fort Wayne, In.; daughter-in-law, Helena Spears of Hunter, Ky.; 19 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

William Henry Blankenship, 29 of Burnwell, Ky. passed away on February 12, 2010 in West Williamson, WV.  Henry was born August 16, 1980 at South Williamson ARH, South Williamson, Ky.
the son of Sandra Blankenship of Burnwell, Ky. and the late Willie Blankenship Jr.  Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Willie and Nebraska Blankenship,
maternal grandparents, John and Zola Thompson and an aunt, Bernice Ogle.
He was a student at Southern West Virginia Community College and attended the Chattaroy Church of God at Chattaroy, WV.
Other survivors include his twin children, William Tyler and Taylor Deshae Blankenship of Georgetown, Ky.; sisters, Mary (Buckie Taylor) Smith of Burnwell, Ky. and April (Terry) Hall of Lenore,
WV; nieces, Amber Blankenship and Timara Smith; nephew, Ryan Taylor; fiancee, Whitney Bostic of Canada, Ky. and a multitude of loving family and friends.

Vernon Edwards, 79 of Ragland, WV passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Ky.
He was born December 25, 1930 at Red Jacket, WV the son of the late Walter and Mary Clay Edwards.  He was also preceded in death by eight brothers, Herbert, Walter Jr., Curtis, Charles,
Rudolph, Howard, James and Lewis Edwards and six sisters, Myrtle Burke, Katherine Sykes, Emogene Hayton, Vernie Edwards, Beulah Mae Cantrell and Dimple Hartley.
Vernon was a retired coal miner from Island Creek Coal Co.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Ann Stacy Edwards; one son, Walter Grant (Rita) Edwards of Ragland, WV; four daughters, Patricia Ann (James) Runyon of Ragland, WV; Debbie (Reece)

Douglas Fairbanks Blackburn, 81 of Canada, Ky. passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at his residence.
He was born December 13, 1928 at Canada, Ky. the son of the late T. Blackburn and Mary Murphy Blackburn.
Doug was retired from N. & W. Railroad, a member of Stone Masonic Lodge #890 F. & A.M. and a member of the Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

Billy Joe Wallace, 76 of Williamson, WV passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 8, 1933 in Shady Valley, Tn. the son of the late Hettie West and Roger West.  He was also preceded in death by his loving daughter, Joi Aloise Parsley.
He was a retired Railroad engineer with over 39 years of service.  He was a US Army Veteran and was a member of the East Williamson Baptist Church.  He was the Secretary for the
Brotherhood of Locomotive of Engineers.
Bill was a loving husband and dad and married to his wife, Dolly Jean Skeens Wallace for almost 46 years.
Survivors including his immediate family members, are  his loving wife, Dolly Jean Skeens Wallace; sons, Billy Joe Wallace Jr. of Haw River, NC, William Heath Wallace of Huntington, WV and

Other than his long years of work, he enjoyed taking his son's hunting and fishing and being in the outdoors.  Other hobbies included woodworking, sewing, watching old westerns, reading,
scrapbooking and telling stories about his life and the way it used to be.  He will be greatly and sadley missed. We all love him very much.  He helped raise two Boston Terriers; Bugedi and Undelay,
who will miss seeing him also.  Love you, Dad and for others; We'll miss you BJ.

Bernis Blackburn, 68, of Sidney, Ky. went to be with the Lord Saturday February 27, 2010 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center, Paintsville, Ky. He was born October 8, 1941 in Pike County, Ky., to
the late Homer and Agnes Crigger Blackburn. He is also preceded in death by his sister-in-law; June Blackburn and nephew; Jerry Lee Blackburn. He was a retired security guard.
He is survived by three brothers; Randy (Norma) Blackburn of Sidney, Ky., Ronnie Blackburn of Pikeville, Ky., and William Earl Blackburn of Mt. Sterling, Ohio and a host of family and friends.

She was the owner and operator of the former LynnMar Motel, a 1956 Graduate of Belfry High School and a member of the Samaria Primitive Baptist Church.

Laura was a faithful servant of the Hardy Church of Christ for forty years and she retired as a nurse after twenty-one years of service with Appalachian Regional Hospital at South Williamson.

his ex-wife, Dorothy Scott Steele of Irvine, Ky.; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Larry Joe "Bonehead" Bevins, 66, of McCarr, Ky., passed away May 23, 2010 at Pikeville Medical Center. he was born February 12, 1944 in Mingo County, W.V. to the late Wilson Bevins and Vicy Smith
Williams. He is also preceded in death by two brothers; Ray Bevins and James Tommy Bevins and one sister; Patricia Davenport. He was a coal truck driver for Farley trucking and of the baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife; Bonetta Bevins, three daughters; Donna Sue Bevins of the home, Lisa Ann Hicks of Waverly, Ohio and Betty Jo Morrison of Waverly, Ohio one sister; Martha Watson of Stepptown,

Jessie James Blackburn, 76, of Canada, Ky. passed away Thursday morning, May 27, 2010 at Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center, Phelps, Ky.
He was born November 19, 1933 at Canada, Ky. the son of the late Clarence and Rosie West Blackburn.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janet Blackburn who died April 23, 2010 and three brothers
and three sisters.
Jessie was a retired coal miner, member of the Canada Freewill Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army.

Millard Curtis Finley, Jr., 63 of Williamson, WV passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Good Samaritan Select Hospital, Lexington, Ky.

He was a retired coal miner with Sprouse Creek Coal Corp. a member of the U.M.W.A.; he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was a pallbearer for President John F. Kennedy's Funeral, he was a
Ceremonial Guard at the White House, and an Honor Guard at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier. He loved playing music with his son, grandson and many friends and he was very proficient in playing many
different musical instruments.

He is survived by one son; Bruce Christopher (Carol) Smith of Forest Hills, Ky. two daughters; April (Heath) Whalen of Columbus, Ohio and Tisa Renee (Doug) Miller of Huntington, W.V., one sister; Karen
Hope Fraley of Turkey Creek, Ky., loving companion; Mary Price of Williamson, W.V. eight grandchildren; Skylar, Seayana, Zander, Katie, Sarah, Jordan, M'Kenzie and Hayden and a host of loving family and
friends.

Elder James E. Gannon, after a long battle with cancer, Brother James, as he was known, peacefully passed away in the ARH Hospital at 8:01 A.M. July 3, 2010. He was 84. He resided with his son Ron
Gannon of Forest Hills, Ky. and was formerly of Canada, Ky. He was born Jan. 6, 1926 at Canada, Ky., to the late Jim and Eula  (Church) Gannon. He is also preceded in death by his wife; Bessie (Stanley)
Gannon, son; James Marvin Gannon, brothers; Fred and Teddy Gannon, sisters; Juanita Taylor, Bessie Stanley and Esta Brown.

Brother James was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church for 60 years and an ordained minister for about 40 years during which time he moderated several churches. His membership was at Indian
Creek Old Regular Baptist Church at Pound, Va. Brother James was retired Carman from Norfolk and Western Railroad and was a veteran serving with the U. S. Army during World War II with the 82nd
Airborne Division.

He is survived by two sons; Ron (Vicky) Gannon of Forest Hills, Ky., and Don Gannon of Williamsburg, Ky., one daughter; Emma (Jerry) Denitson of Orlando, Fl., seven grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren.

He was born January 4, 1966 in Pike County, Ky. the son of Reta Ann Maynard Pinson of Sidney, Ky and the late Gene Pinson.  He was also preceded in death by brothers, Danny Larry Pinson and James
Micheal Pinson.
He was a carpenter.
Besides his Mother he is survived by daughters, Tiffany and Brittany Pinson of Russellville, In.; brother, Joe Pinson of Sidney, Ky.; sisters, Tammy Wallace of McAndrews, Ky. and Penny Spears of Wellford,
SC; nieces, Amber Wallace and Katelynn Pinson; nephews, Dillon Spears and Jeremiah Wallace; great nephew; Davin Burton and his Fiancée, Robin Ritz.

Earl William Mullins, 82, of Williamson, WV passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 25, 1928 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Walter "Whistle" and Beulah England Mullins.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Mullins Overton.
He was a former self-employed auto mechanic and a veteran of the United State Marine Corps.

Karen  "Beth" DeHart Smith, 48 of Canada, Ky. passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 amongst the loving care of family and friends.  Beth was born September 25, 1961 the daughter of Ada Scott DeHart of

Beth's pride and joy were her beloved grandbabies, Carli, Cyrah and Chloi
Lewis and Cayden Pauley.  One special niece whom she loved like a daughter, Selinna Kitchen and three nephews, Jamie, Chris and Josh DeHart.

Glen Wolford, 75, of Red Jacket, WV passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at his residence.

Janie Diana Williamson, 39, of Huddy, Kentucky, died Saturday, October 2, 2010 at her residence.
Born March 15, 1971 at Columbus, Ohio, she was a daughter of John R. Williamson of Huddy, Kentucky and the late Mary Jane (Smith) Williamson.  Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by
Paternal Grandparents, Ben and Florie Williamson and Maternal Grandfather, Sidney Smith.
God our Father, Jesus Christ our Savior, Holy Spirit our Comforter is the foundation of Janie's heart and her life. She was secured in her Faith and her salivation always looking forward to the day she would
be called Home to Heaven. Janie always gave thanks for each day she was on earth. She was the bravest person with each trail in the battle of her health; she would take solace in her inner strength with Christ
and keep moving forward with out giving up. Her race has now been run and her reward is now with Jesus. Jon Jon, is her pride and joy, before her sickness she would travel with Jon to all his sporting
events, In the stands she would cheer is team on. Jon would always know how to make her smile, make her laugh and give her comfort to her days battles. Lately she was able to spend most of her time
outside and would travel where her scooter allowed her to go; she loved visiting her neighbors and family.  Janie is a Daughter, a Mom, a Grand-Daughter, a Sister, an Aunt (sissy) and a wonderful friend to so
many, Janie will be missed with a void in our hearts until we see her again in Heaven

Chad Lee Morris, 22, of Hatfield, Ky. took his journey home Sunday, October 17, 2010.
Michael and Shelia Morris were blessed with his birth on September 6, 1988 at Pikeville, Ky.

Jack Fleming, 86, of Hazard, Kentucky formerly of Hardy, passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 in the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital, Hazard, Kentucky.
Born February 11, 1924 at Wolfpit, Kentucky a son of the late George Washinton Fleming and Nola Hinkle Fleming.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Jack was a truck driver and served his country with the United States Navy during World War II.  He was a member of the Hardy Church of Christ.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and friends.

Leslie Lou "Lisa" Hall, 48 of Stone, Ky.passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, WV.
She was born August 22, 1962 at Williamson, WV the daughter of JoAnn Marcum of McCarr, Ky. and the late Mont Hall.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bobo Hall.
She was a homemaker and a former nurse's aid and member of the Pinsonfork Church of God.

Billy J. Blackburn, 73 of Lucasville, Ohio formerly of Canada, Ky. passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010 in Lucasville, Ohio.

He was a retired barber.

Clinton Jr. (C.J.) Williamson, 65 of Sidney, Ky. passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky.
He was born June 6, 1945 at Canada, Ky. the son of the late Omer and Gladys Crigger Williamson.  He was also preceded in death by brothers, Clifford, Perry and Okie Williamson and one sister, Bessie M.
Stacy.
He was a disabled United States Navy Veteran and a member of Belfry Chapter #141 D.A.V.  He loved little children and always carried chewing gum in his pocket and offered to anyone who would take it.  He
was loved by many people and will be greatly missed by everyone.  He was a God fearing person and of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by sisters, Hazel (Bob) Thacker and Anna Baldwin all of Sidney, Ky. and Barbara (Onas Jr.) Deskins of Ray, Michigan and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Dix Fork Old Regular Baptist Church with ministers of the church officiating.  Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Sidney,

William Bogar Stanley, 40, of Sidney, Ky. passed away Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born November 19, 1969 at South Williamson, Ky. the son of Ervil Stanley of Canada, Ky. and Gracie Mae Endicott Stanley of Williamson, WV.  He was a disabled automobile mechanic.
Besides his parents he is survived by his wife, Kathyrin Elizabeth Young Stanley of Canada, Ky.; three sons, William Joshua, Christian Ryan and Isaiah Chase Stanley all of Canada, Ky.; step son, Cory Young
of Canada, Ky.; three brothers, Roy Stanley of Tennessee, Timmy Stanley of Georgia and Ervil Jr. (June Bug) Stanley of Somerset, Ky.; two grandchildren, Kyra Renee Young and Braxton Michael Stanley and
a host of family and friends.

James R. Lee, 67, resident of Statesville, North Carolina and formerly of Wellington, Ohio, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born April 20, 1943 in Pike County, Kentucky a son of the late Austin  and Phoebe (Cochran ) Lee.  In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife Della (Grizzel) Lee in 2003,
and his sister Leona.
Jim was a member of the Abundant Life Church while he was in Ohio.  While he was residing in North Carolina, he was a member of the Patriot Guard Military Motorcycle Honor Guard.  He liked working out
and in his younger years enjoyed karate and also taught karate.  Jim served in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division as a paratropper.  In 1967 he relocated to Elyria, Ohio and was employed at the Ford
Motor Company, Lorain Assembly Plant, where he started on the first assembly line and at retirement in 2000 he was a lift driver.
Survivors include three sons; Mack "Shane" (wife, Linda) Lee of Brooklyn, Ohio; Robert "Heath" (wife, shelly) of Amherst, Ohio; Dustin Lee of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren; Nicholas, Madison,
Morganne, Maizy and Peter James Lee; six sisters, Betty Chumley, Blackberry City, Kentucky, Sue Slone, North Carolina., Alice Mayhorn, North Carolina, Mary Lee, Belfry, Kentucky, Ruth Crum, Turkey,
Creek, Kentucky, Louise Miller, Bristol, Virginia, and a brother "Doc" Lee, North Carolina.

grandparents, Ronald Miller and Marie S. Miller Emma; uncles, Harold Varney and Ronald R. Miller and a great uncle, Jefferson W. (Woody) Smith.
He was a member of the Sharondale Church of Christ, a retired computer analyst for Litton Industries in Los Angeles and a veteran serving four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Carl Ray Cline, 76 of Majestic, Ky. passed away Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Hinkle Hospice House, Lexington, NC.
He was born October 28, 1934 at Majestic, Ky. the son of the late George and Bessie Wallace Cline.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Annette Cline; five brothers, John, Cecil, Jack, Isaac and Acie

He was a retired coal miner from Kentucky Carbon, a member of the UMWA, a member of the Church of Christ and a veteran of the US Army.

Danny Everette Smith, 64, of Chesapeake, Ohio formerly of Huddy, KY. passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord as he was surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 10, 2010,
after a courageous battle with cancer.
Danny was born September 14, 1946, in Huddy, Ky. the son of Ezell Smith and the late Everette Smith.  Also preceding him in death was an infant sister, Christine Smith.
He was a graduate of Belfry High School, Huntington Barber College and Huntington School of Beauty Culture.  On January 3, 1974, he opened his own business, Daniel's Den Hair Styling where he barbered
for 36 years before retiring September 10, 2010, due to failing health.  The shop was also well known for his collections of Flamingo's.  He was an active member of the Jaycees and a Kentucky Colonel.
Those left to cherish his loving memories include his Mother Ezell; sister Yvonne (Roger) Campbell, niece, Kendra Hurley-Campbell (Josh); his only child, Mark Everette (Sara) Smith; his companion Rhonda
Vance; her children Johnnay and Kari Vance, and Amanda Pyles.  He was "Papaw" to Baylor, Corbin and Garrett Pyles and Emily Vance.  Uncles: Roger L. (Dorothy) Plymale of Pikeville, Ky. and Ralph

Millard was a teacher and coach at Belfry High School for many years. He served as a member and deacon of the Belfry First Baptist Church for 38 years. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.

Robin Kerry Coley, 49, of Pinsonfork, KY, passed away November 21, 2010, at Pikeville Medical Center. She was born February 1, 1961, in Fort Jackson, SC to the late Jim and Shirley May Coley. She is

Donald Eugene Chapman Sr. 78, of McVeigh, KY, passed away November 20, 2010 peacefully from the arms of his loving family to the loving arms of the LORD, following a courageous battle with
leukemia. He was born December 4, 1931 at Ball Fork, KY to the late Pem and Bertha Ward Chapman. He attended Ball Fork grade school and attended Belfry High School to 1951 where is was captain of the
football team his junior and senior year and was a pitcher and leftfielder for the baseball team.
He was married to his high school sweetheart and loving wife of  58 years; Peggy Jones Chapman whom he married June 30, 1952. Don served in the US Army during the Korean War where he was stationed
in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1954. He was a retired coal miner of 20 years and he also retired after 20 years of service from Owens Illinios Glass Factory of Columbus, Ohio. Don was an avid
coon hunter, he loved his dogs and just sitting on his front porch.
They were blessed with three children; Butch (Angie) Chapman of South Williamson, KY Pamela Lynn (Bobby) Harlow of Paintsville, KY and Randy Dale (June) Chapman of McVeigh, KY A very special  
granddaughter; Ashley Nicole, who he considered his own. (His #1 aggravation) Along with six other grandchildren; Donia Chapman Hicks, Aaron "Dibble" Chapman, Ryan Michael Harlow, Payton Ryna
Harlow, Brandon Chapman and his number one little buddy; Randy "Pete" Chapman. two great grandchildren; Chandler Hicks and Jodi Dawn Rollins and one who is expected to be born in December. A special
friend; Rocky Rollins, who Don thought of as one of his own. He was also blessed with a host of hunting buddies, friends and family.

Alma Frances Fields Caudill, 87, of Phelps, KY formerly of Chattaroy, WV passed away Tuesday morning, December 7, 2010 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky.
She was born April 24, 1923 at Thacker, WV the daughter of the late Jack and Ollie Jane Thomas Farley.  She was also preceded in death by a step mother, Ethel F. Farley, her first husband, Chester Fields,
her second husband, Ralph Caudill Sr., son, David Keith Fields, sister, Betty Jane Thompson, half brother, Jackie Farley, grandson, Nicholas Fields and son-in-law, Virgil Smith.
Frances was a homemaker and had attended the Toler Freewill Baptist Church while she was able to do so.

John W. Wright, 88, of McAndrews, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday December 5, 2010 at the Parkview Nursing Rehabilitation Center, Pikeville, Kentucky.
John W. Wright, affectionately known as "Dick" was born May 18, 1922 in Pike County, Ky.  John was the fourth child born to the union of the late Jackson and Katie Jones- Wright.  He was also preceded in
death by a daughter, Stephanie Wright-Ford; his siblings, Rufus Jack, Charlie William, Catherine Carrie, Mary Elizabeth, Richard and his great granddaughter, Jhaimy.
He worked and retired from Eastern Coal Corporation, Stone, Ky. and he was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army.
He married Vera Mae Johnson on December 26, 1957.  To their union they were blessed with two children Magnolia "Maggie" Boone and Stephanie Wright-Ford.  John was baptized and received the Holy
Spirit at Christ Temple Church, Williamson, WV.
He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life and legacy; his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Vera Wright; his daughter, Maggie Boone; seven grandchildren, James (Akilah) Harris, Vatisha Harris
and Alease Boone, Robert (Nita) Wright, Deboris Wright, Benjamin Jones II and Jonathan Jones; four great grandchildren, Jayden, Tommy, Kiyah and Robert Michael Jr., dearly cherished sister-in-law, Hattie

Ballard was a retired coal miner with Eastern Coal Corporation, member of the UMWA, a veteran of the US Army having served during World War II and participated in the Battle of the Bulge and he was also
a member of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge.  He was of the Primitive Baptist Faith, a member of Stone Lodge #890 F. & A.M and Stone Heritage.

James Ireland West, 46 a former resident of Aflex, Ky. passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Valley Haven Nursing Home, Wellsburg, W.V.
He was born April 14, 1964 the son of Carol Deskins West of Northern Ohio and the late Ralph West.  He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and guardians, Ireland and MinnerWest,
maternal grandparents, Bill and Ina Deskins and one sister, Renae West.
Besides his Mother, he is survived by one daughter, Marquita West of Chapmanville, WV; longtime companion, Deborah Gannon of Hardy, Ky. several brothers and sisters and a host of other family and
friends.
Burial will take place at the West, Chapman & Layne Cemetery, Canada, Ky.

Timothy Adam Cline, 25 of Mallie, Ky. passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born October 10, 1985 at South Williamson, Ky. the son of Timothy Eugene Cline of Turkey Creek, Ky. and Deborah Lynn Thacker Crigger of Mallie, Ky. and step father, Ted Crigger.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Cline and his maternal grandparents, Phillip Dewey and Jenny Mae Thacker.
Besides his parents, he is survived by one brother, Matthew Jonathan (Sarah Beth) Cline of Huddy, Ky.; paternal Grandmother, Faye Cline of Turkey Creek, Ky; step sister, Brandy (Drew) McDaniels of
Pikeville, Ky.; his Sissy, Wanda; niece, Mollie Elizabeth Cline and nephew, Jacob Matthew Cline and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Mikey Smith officiating.   Entombment will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens
Mausoleum, Huddy, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be held after 6 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home.

Mary Lee Stanley, 88 of Sidney, KY, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital Emergency Room.
She was born October 16, 1922 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of the late Joe B. and Lizzie Thacker Stanley.  She was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Denita Kelker and brothers and sisters, Frennie
Stanley, Willie Stanley, Quincy Stanley, Landon Stanley, Eula Marie Stanley and Joseph Ferrell Stanley.
Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, David B. (Alice) May of Canada, Ky.; daughters, Beulah (Ray) Williamson of Sidney, Ky., Wanda (Allen) Maynard of Sidney, Ky. and Drema (Mike) Elswick of Canada, Ky.;  a
brother, James Stanley of Canada, Ky.; sister, Ruby Benn of Michigan; grandchildren, Mariruth Young, Michael Landon Elswick, Suzanne Henson, Amy Beth Howard, Albert Ray Williamson, Bruce
Williamson, Ronald Williamson, Brian Williamson, David Lee May, Larry Bruce May, Joe Thacker and Carlyn Branham; 19 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Robert Joe Blackburn 75, of Sevierville, TN formerly of Toler, KY passed away Friday December 24, 2010 at LeConte Medical Center of Sevierville, TN.
Born November 24, 1935 in Pike County, Kentucky, a son of the late John and Sylvann Blackburn.
He was a retired Coal Miner and Truck Driver.  Robert was of the Freewill Baptist Faith.
He is survived by two sons, David (JoAnna)  Blackburn of Sevierville, Tn. and Terry Joe (Lena) Blackburn of Hardy, Kentucky; two sisters Bobbi Sue Blackburn of Sevierville, Tennessee and Tammy
Blackburn ; two brothers, James "Buddy" (Sarah) Blackburn of Hellier, Kentucky and Junior (Helma) Blackburn of Lawton, Oklahoma; two sisters, Nocha (Elbert) Steele of Dandridge, Tennessee and Alice
(Grover) Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; seven grandchildren, three Great Grandchildren and a host of loving friends.
Funeral Services will be held 1 P.M. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home with Greg Whitetree officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Kentucky,

Elmer Cleveland Plummer, 34, of Huddy, KY, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010, at St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, WV.
He was born July 26, 1976 at South Williamson, Ky. the son of Shirley Hensley Plummer Stanley and step father, James Stanley of Huddy, Ky. and the late Estil Plummer.  He was also preceded in death two
sisters, Christie Plummer and Janie Carol Hensley and grandparents, Elmer Hensley, Tilda Rose and John Filter Plummer.
He was a graduate of Belfry High School and a member of the McVeigh United Baptist Church.
Other survivors include his brother, Estil Plummer Jr. of Huddy, Ky.; sisters, Shirley Jane Williams of Ransom, Ky. and Marlena K. Plummer of Huddy, Ky., grandmother, Hattie Hensley of Huddy, Ky.; nieces,
Shyla and Hattie Bush; nephews, Walker Plummer and Billy Williams; Uncle, Larry (Judy) Hensley of McVeigh, Ky. and cousins, Judy Scott, Larry A. Hensley and Ariel Scott.

Charles Ray Chapman, 77, of Turkey Creek, KY, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky. after a 6 year battle with lung cancer.
He was born November 19, 1933 at Stone, Ky. the son of the late Frank and Ruth Williamson Chapman.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kelly Chapman and a sister, Peggy Bow Thompson.
Charles was a retired welder, a veteran of the United States Army and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors includes the love of his life for 55 years, his wife, Ruby Sellards Chapman of Turkey Creek, Ky.; five children, James Chapman, JoAnn (Bobby) Miller, Janet (Mike) Barker, Cindy (Jack) Hampton

Hazel Rebecca Smith, 88 of South Williamson, KY, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born September 21, 1922 at Williamson, WV the daughter of the late James and Allie Clark Morris.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lat Smith and three brothers, Joseph, Bert and
Everette Morris.
She was a former employee of Cox"s Department Store and Magic Mart and a member of the First Baptist Church of Williamson.
Survivors include her son, Lat (Debra) Smith of Turkey Creek, Ky.; sister, Pansy Thompson of Rio Grande, Ohio; two grandchildren, Kimberly (Bradley) Dunkelberg of Warren, Mi. and Timothy Scott (April)

She was born January 15, 1954 in Williamson, WV the daughter of the late Stanley Jack Briggs and Mary Naomi Hatfield Briggs.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Daniel Briggs and
two sisters, Abigail Prater and Dorothy Blankenship.
Survivors include her husband, Ermel Lee Akers of Hatfield, Ky.; one son, David Lendell (Gina) Francisco of Pikeville, Ky.; one daughter, Mary Naomi Ortega of Pikeville, Ky.; three brothers, Thomas Edward
(Beatrice) Briggs of Tn., Jerry Lee (Joy) Briggs of Phelps, Ky. and Raymond Morriss Briggs of Phelps, Ky. and one grandson, Gavin Lucas Francisco.

Freddie Smith, 83 of McCarr, Ky. passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at her residence.
She was born May 23, 1927 at McVeigh, Ky. the daughter of the late Francis M. and Melda Runyon Hatfield.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Langley Smith; brother, Hugh C. Hatfield
and sisters, Jane H. Smith, Martha Smith, Betty Sue Farley and Emma Lee Anderson.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Samaria Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy (Duke) Blackburn of McCarr, Ky.; son, Tommy M. Smith of Pikeville, Ky.; sisters, Kate Keesee of Virginia Beach, Va. and Cordia (Ralph) Swafford of Logan,WV;
grandsons, Greg (Nickie) Blackburn, Mark D. Blackburn and Tommy Dale Smith; granddaughter, Shannon (Adam) Shelley; great grandson, Matthew Langley Blackburn and a host of family and friends.

Sidney Ervin May, 79, of Cincinnati passed away December 29, 2010, loving husband of Katharine Hatfield May.
He was born March 8, 1931 in Pike County, Kentucky a son of the late Sidney and Ethel "Hazy" (Phillips) May and one brother, Darrell D. May.
Sidney, served his country with the U.S.Army during the Korean War and was a retiree of  the Proctor and Gamble Company.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Timothy Lee (Elaine) May of Lebanon, Ohio and Neal Allen May (Rob Klaben) of Bellbrook, Ohio; grandchild, Tricia Kelley (Brad) and great grandchild, Ava.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. at the Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church with Emery Varney officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church
